LESSON LEARNED

So today we had (2) business lunch deliveries.  One for a client that I deliver to insurance claims offices for a Doctor here in town at least once or twice a month.   So I get there and the office ask, "Who is this from?"  I tell them, and they say "WOW how nice,  isn't he coming next week?" -

Flashback to 2 weeks ago, as I was driving, when the office manager called to tell me to change the date for a week later the original date.

So what do I do...what can I do?.... do I take it back?... We can't eat it Chef & I, not even our families can consume it...It's for 65 guests!  There are 20 women hovering over the food, drooling, anxious to get their paws on it, one lady had to asked them to leave while I finished setting up. I'm so frustrated, $ signs, loss, my time, etc. etc. are racing through my head  -   So I left it!  For those women to enjoy, if I kept it, it would be like "taking candy out of a babys' hand".   NOT PAID!  -  Chalk it up to a loss....but did I really loose?  I learned a valuable lesson today.  When a client wants to make a change (especially when I am driving) they will have to do it in writing via email and receive a confirmation from me with the change on the proposal.

LESSON LEARNED!  I am a slow learner, that's for sure.

P.S.  I also added that section in my contract.
